レアル・マドリーMFグラベセンはスペインのプレスが自分を激しい選手と言うレッテルをつけたと母国デンマークのEkstra Bladet紙でコメントし、スペインプレスには取材拒否の意向を示している。

「スペインの審判も選手たちも新聞を読んでそれを信じている空気が自分の周りにあるのを感じる。選手は自分が近づけば壊し屋が来たと、審判はちょっとしたプレーにもイメージですぐカードを提示する。10回中９回はファールを取ってくれるリーガでは選手がボールを失った時すぐ倒れる傾向があるけど、デンマーク、ドイツ、イングランドでは逆に恥ずかしいプレーと考えられているのに」
